Ready for Spring Break?

Acomoclitic Studio wants to help you get ready for Spring Break! We are offering a special price on our spray tan for March 2010. When you come in for your brazilian waxing, add on a spray tan for only $15! You will be all set for your trip, hopefully to someplace warm and sunny!
Before you come in for your services, you will want to make sure that your hair is grown in at least a quarter inch long. That will ensure that all the hair will get pulled out by the wax. You will also want to exfoliate your skin. By exfoliating, you get all of the dead skin off and that way, the spray tan lasts longer and comes off more evenly.
You can exfoliate by using exfoliation gloves, a loofah or a scrub body wash (like apricot scrub). We sell exfoliation gloves at our studio for $5. Totally worth the investment! I use mine about three times per week and they have lasted over a year.
You can schedule your wax the same day as your spray tan, but we will be sure to do the wax first. Remember to wear dark, loose clothing like black sweats and a dark colored t-shirt.

What is a photofacial?

A photofacial is basically a light facial. New technology has specific wavelengths to treat acne, brown spots and fine lines. Acomoclitic's photofacial machine is painless, where most photofacial machines (IPLs) can be painful.
Why is yours painless? It has a unique system called photopneumatics. Basically meaning that the treatment tip has a gentle vacuum that sucks the skin closer to the light source, allowing the light to penetrate deeper without it being so strong that is causes pain. Most IPLs will feel like a rubberband snap and may even require numbing cream prior to the treatment.
The Aesthera PPx photofacial is just as powerful and effective without the pain. What is a treatment like?
First, you need to cleanse your skin prior to the treatment. Make sure that there is no makeup or lotions on the skin. Then, the esthetician will wipe a gauze soaked in water over the skin. Then the photofacial tip will be applied to the skin. You will feel the suction sensation and then a warm burst of light. The tip only treats a small area at a time. It takes about 20 minutes to cover the whole surface area of the face. Afterwards you may feel a slight sunburn sensation. This usually lasts for about 20 minutes. Your skin may be slightly pink depending on your skin sensitivity. You can apply make up immediately after and go about your day. There is no down time. You can easily get a photofacial on your lunch break and go right back to work.
The results take a few days to show. The acne spots will clear up. The brown spots will fade. And the skin should feel slightly tighter and smoother. Multiple treatments are recommeded for the most benefit. More treatments are needed for severe acne and dark brown spots.

Acomoclitic Studio specializes in removing pubic hair from the entire pubic region. We aren't shy about waxing or lasering 'that area' of the body on women and men. It's basically what we do all day long. At the same time, we still honor and respect your privacy and modesty level. Our goal is for you to feel as comfortable as possible. Many clients have told me that they are surprised at how comfortable they felt with us performing their Brazilian laser or waxing.
Why is this our specialty?
After doing brazilians at a spa for a couple of years, I began to realize that the Brazilian Wax was a growing trend. I was getting a lot of new clients and referrals. Once they tried it, they usually made it part of their regular grooming. I had a few men come in for brazilian waxing at the spa. Many times they said it had been hard trying to find a spa that offered that service to men.
I decided that there was a growing demand for a place where people could get brazilian waxing done. I wanted this to be a place where customers didn't even have to ask if braziian waxing was offered; it would be obvious. It would be a place that they would be confident to come and refer their partner, family and friends. I wanted a place that they could yell or laugh if they wanted to, without feeling like they were disturbing a massage or facial in the next room.
So Acomoclitic was born. Along with the waxing trend was the laser hair removal trend. At first, I had to research and see if it was possible to laser the whole pubic area. I found that it was possible. Unfortunately, I found that people were experiencing the same frustration with some laser clinics. Some clinics offered brazilians and some did not. Some offered it for women and not men. "Why is that?" some people asked me.
Most of the time it is because the laser technician or waxer is not trained on doing brazilians for women and men. Or if they have been trained, they don't feel confident or comfortable seeing or touching genitals (or their boyfriend/husband doesn't like it). I had one Doctor say he didn't want to risk some kind of sexual related law suit. The bottom line of all these reasons is: FEAR.
Acomoclitic is about facing fears, being daring, bold, confidant, taking risks...all with the fabulous benefit of hairless genitals, which can lead to increased sexual self confidence and great sex!
Our laser technicians and waxers are courageous to remove hair from intimate areas. While our clients are courageous to have their pubic hair removed regardless of the pain.

Visine for Post-Wax

Yesterday I had a customer tell me that she discovered a new solution for red, irritated skin from waxing. After her last waxing she went online and searched 'porn star tips for waxing redness.' She found some great tips, including using Visine on the redness from shaving or waxing. She tried it out and said it worked wonders!
It makes sense. It would be worth trying on skin after shaving, laser and even sunburns. Any comments?

Vagina--The New Accessory

Valentine's Day is this Thursday and I have been be-jeweling many Acomoclitic clients. It's playful to decorate with a variety of colorful small gems. One of my clients stated, "The vagina is the new accessory!" I laughed and had to agree.
I met with Dr. Oscar A. Aguirre of The Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of Denver last year. His specialty is Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and Designer Laser Vaginoplasty. He does one surgery to tighten the vagina so there is more stimulation for the woman and her partner during intercourse. He also can reconstruct the area around the clitoris to increase stimulation. As the media gives more attention to the vagina, women are becoming more aware of their options and willing to explore. Dr. Oscar also can tighten loose labia. Many of my female clients have voiced a concern about their labia hanging instead of being tight. I would highly recommend to consult with Dr. Oscar because he uses a laser instead of cutting which is a lot safer against infection and minimizes healing time. He is a perfectionist and knows how to make the vagina look beautiful.
I also love to celebrate the fabulous female vagina! Especially when it comes to Valentine's Day--the day of love and sex! By adding the jewels, it's like wearing lingerie without having anything on! I can also leave the hair in the shape of a heart and dye it pink!

THE SOLDIER

The majority of men have some hair on their penis. Recently I have had some male clients request to have just the hair removed from their shaft.
This is not currently an option on our menu. The closest thing we have is the Uptown, which includes the hair on the shaft and scrotum.
So now we are offering the Soldier for men. This waxing option will include removing all the hair from the penis shaft and the hair immediatly around the base of the penis.
One client explained that having the hair removed made it much easier for a condom to go on. Another client said, "The hair is just annoying!"
I am currently in the process of adding the Soldier to our menu and our website. In the meantime, if you're interested in having this service done, please contact us for an appointment.

New Anal Bleaching Cream!

Anal Bleaching has been termed the New Brazilian Wax, but at Acomoclitic Studio we call it The Pink Wink. Housewives, starlets, gays, exotic dancers, and women in general, requests for anal bleaching are becoming more and more frequent. It seems that the growing exposure during anal sex scenes by porn stars with lovely, clean-looking pink anuses seems to have ignited this trend. More and more people are coming to our studio concerned about the darker coloring around their anus, butt crack and vagina. If you are part of this crowd, there is no reason to be embarrassed.
Often times, after having the Acomoclitic Wax (or Brazilian waxing) which includes waxing the butt crack hair, the skin is exposed. Sparkle Yourself!

Have you ever wanted to decorate yourself in your most private areas? Throughout many decades and cultures women have been creative in elaborating their most sacred regions.
The latest fashion happening in Colorado are creative jewel designs. What's that? After you have the Acomoclitic Wax (all the hair waxed off), your skin is bare and just begging for some sort of design or decoration! At our Studio we are creative with various jewel designs that can be glued to your bare skin. They last 4-5 days. My first design lasted between work outs, showers, the hot tub and SEX!
These designs can be as simple as a small heart shape and as elaborate as a butterfly.
If you prefer to leave some hair behind, you can add the jewels to sparkle it up. For instance, adding lights on either side of your landing strip, or an olive in your martini glass shape.
For brides, we have all white jewels to add some sparkle to your special night! Or what about 'something blue' that nobody will see but him? (and of course your maid of honor, your sister, your mother and grandmother, his mother and grandmother---You'll want to show it off--right?!)

What can I do about Bumps and Ingrowns?

The worst side effects of waxing are red bumps and ingrown hairs. The easiest thing to do for ingrowns is to exfoliate the skin as the hairs are growing back in. That keeps the dead skin cells from clogging the follicle, allowing the hair to come through. There are many options for exfoliating. When a client visits our studio for the first time, I send them home with a pair of exfoliating gloves. These work better than a loofah or wash cloth because they are 'scratchier'.
There are quite a few products on the market that work really well. One of the main products is called Tend Skin. You can't buy it in stores, but alot of salons carry it. We sell it from our website or at the studio. It costs $20 for a 4oz bottle.
Sanitas makes a product called "Drying Lotion." Originally made as a moisturizer for acne skin, has been discovered to get rid of ingrown hairs. We sell it for $24 for a 1oz container. It contains Zinc and Sulfur to soothe the skin, minimizing any redness.
To minimize the red bumps, you want to calm the skin. Aloe Vera and Tea Tree are two natural products that seem to work well and you may already have some in your medicine cupboard. Especially this time of year, to aide sunburns.

Anal Bleaching, which I've kindly termed the "Pink Wink" is becoming more and more popular nationwide among both women and men. I often am asked if most of my cutomers are gay males or porn stars. Although, these two categories tend to be more self aware of their anus color, most of my customers aren't either. Many women will become darker colored in their vaginal and anal region during pregnancy due to changes in hormones. The dark pigment is extra melanin. The melanin contains helpful antioxidants to ward off environmental pollutants from contaminating the body. This makes sense that the body would build up an extra 'antioxidant shield' when preparing to have a baby. Unfortunately, alot of women remain darker even after giving birth. The bleach cream that we specially formulated has shown to be effective and non-irritating on such a sensitive area. The intent is to lighten the darker areas to match the surrounding skin. The ideal color for the anus is a light pink. Why do people want a Pink Wink? Usually, people feel 'cleaner.' On some people, the whole butt crack can look 'stained.' This can make them self conscious of revealing their crack, feeling like others might consider it 'dirty.' I tell my clients, they should only do Anal or Vaginal bleaching if they are self-conscious of the dark pigment. If it doesn't bother them or their partner, leave the body in it's natural state. Although, if having a Pink Wink will give them more confidence, especially sexual confidence, by all means--go for it! Use the bleach cream!
For my clients who come in for Acomoclitic Waxing (everything Down Under waxed off) I can apply the bleach cream for an additional $10. Then I recommend purchasing the product to use at home 1-2 times per day for a month for $35. On their following visit, I can determine if they should continue using the product. If people live too far away from the studio to come in for a treatment, the product is safe to purchase and use at their own discretion. If there are any unusual side effects, stop usage and contact me right away.
Anal Bleaching has been called the New Brazilian Wax...so if you're already doing brazilian waxing, check out your anus--now that it is hairless--and see if it needs some bleach cream! The nice thing about this added procedure, it doesn't hurt!

What is a Cheek Glow?

New to Acomoclitic! What is a Cheek Glow? Basically an exfoliation treatment for the buttocks, removing the deadskin and cleansing the pores. It costs $75. The backend is a common place to have breakouts and yet a very hard area to cleanse on yourself. How to be a Sex Goddess

"How to be a Sex Goddess" by Sarah Tomczak is an excellent book sold at Fascinations, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com. The best tip she gives, is to have confidence in the body we are in. When we have confidence and feel pretty, we look confident and pretty. This allows us freedom to be ourselves. To not hold back. I encourage all women to read this book. It has some reviews on celebrities who live as sex goddesses, like Jennifer Aniston and Marilyn Monroe. Of course I agree with Sarah, that every woman should experience a brazilian wax! (that's in there too.)
Here's a little story of a confident sex goddess (yours truly):
I was at Denver Airport waiting to board a plane and this gentleman caught my eye. He was exuding confidence and prestige. The kinda guy that I'm attracted to. He had dark brown hair, blue eyes, a sports jacket over a black t-shirt, jeans and cowboy boots. Business/Casual. He was talking on his cell phone as I starred at him from a distance and admired him.....As I was boarding the plane, he was already sitting in first class. He looked up at me and smiled, I smiled back. I felt his gaze on me as I walked back to my seat....Once the plane was off and I was able to walk around, I walked up to his first class seat and tapped him on the shoulder (he had his head set on, hooked to his laptop). He started asking me question after question. When I told him that I was originally from Kalispell Montana, he said he lives in Helena. I told him "I could tell by your cowboy boots that you live in Montana" (that let him know that I noticed him before he got on the plane). Before long, the steward came up behind me and told me I wasn't allowed to sit there. (Bummer.) I said okay and told the cowboy--"It was a pleasure to meet you."
Later the steward came up to me and asked me who Mr. Cowboy was--thinking he must've been someone important. I told him that I didn't know, he just caught my eye. When I was getting off the plane, the steward smiled at me and said "That took some guts!" I smiled back. The BEST part was when I got down the hall, Mr. Cowboy was waiting for me! He came over to me and asked me why I wanted to meet him. I told him that he caught my eye. We both went to Terminal E to catch our connection flights. He was going to Helena, I to Spokane. We chatted for about an hour. He told me he'd love to have me up to his cabin for a glass of wine on the porch while we watch the sunset. As he was leaving he turned to wave and smile. It was such an exhilarating moment. I'm so glad that I had the confidence of a SEX GODDESS to approach him.
